After inspection, it was found that the quality of the quartz stone processed by this plant is poor, the sediment content is large, the particle size is large, and the grindability is poor. It is the main reason for frequent stone discharge at the discharge of the wet ball mill, followed by the operator’s mistake resulting in. 1. Poor quality of ball mill processing materials

Poor grindability: The main component of quartz stone is SiO2, which has large hardness and poor grindability. Therefore, the impact force can be increased by increasing the diameter of the steel ball to increase the weight of the steel ball. At the same time, the feed amount should be reduced, the output of the ball mill should be reduced, and the residence time of the quartz stone in the ball mill should be extended to improve the grindability of the material.

2. The ball mill operator is operating incorrectly

Exceeding force: The ball mill operator’s operating errors or problems with the weighing belt feeder weighing and weighing system will cause the wet ball mill to exceed its output and cause the wet ball mill to discharge stones.

3. The ball mill steel ball filling rate is not suitable

Every designed ball mill will have a reasonable steel ball filling range value. When the ball mill’s steel ball loading exceeds a certain limit, the dead zone will be significantly enlarged, thereby reducing the crushing and grinding effects, reducing the grinding efficiency, and increasing the consumption. If the consumption is too large, the load will be further increased to reduce the output, and the phenomenon of ore discharge and stones will occur outside the rated output.

In this case, it is necessary to check the ball mill’s steel ball filling rate according to the actual situation of the plant. In general, the appropriate filling rate of the steel ball is 20% to 40% of the ball mill volume, and the average bulk specific gravity of the steel ball is about 4.6t / m3.

4. the ball mill steel ball ratio is unreasonable

Each ball mill has a reasonable range of steel ball ratio. The ratio of the ball mill steel ball should be determined according to the value given by the manufacturer. When the inner liner of the ball mill is worn to a certain extent, the steel ball amount of the ball mill needs to be increased due to the reduction of the thickness of the liner, which is generally 5% to 15%.

5. Cyclone problems

With the change of time, the wear of the sand mouth will gradually increase, and the diameter of the underflow mouth will also increase. The particles of the feed will be more and more discharged from the sand mouth, reducing the grinding efficiency, which will cause the ball mill to discharge. A row of stones has appeared. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out daily inspection and maintenance of the cyclone, and replace the sand spit in time to ensure the underflow concentration.
